Worship Ministry
Our Purpose: We were created to glorify God and enjoy Him forever, and each of us was born with a desire to worship. Therefore, it is our desire as a worship ministry to facilitate, or lead, in a worship experience that is grounded in truth, relevant in content, and executed with excellence.
We desire to glorify the Lord, point the seeker to Christ, and encourage the believer in his or her walk with the Lord.
Frequently Asked Questions
How Do I Get Connected? Schedule an appointment with the Worship Pastor, at which time you will be given an overview of the Worship Ministry. You will have an opportunity to ask questions concerning the ministry. Then, the Worship Pastor and/or the Music Assistant will listen to you sing. This is so we can place you in the proper section of the choir.
Do I have to be a member of the church to participate in the Worship Ministry? No. However, if you want to fill a leadership role you must be a member of the church.
How often do I have to attend? As with any other ministry in the church, we need your complete commitment. You are expected to attend every rehearsal as well as each time the choir leads in worship. The exception to this, of course, is illness, vacation, or circumstances beyond your control.
When are rehearsals? We rehearse every Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM in the Worship Center. On Sundays we lead congregational singing, as well as singing relevant anthems of praise and worship.
Will I be able to attend a Small Group Bible Study and Worship Service? Yes. There are several Small Groups that you may attend. Most of them meet on Sundays. Others meet at various times during the week. You may attend any of the three Worship Services that are offered.
If I play an instrument, how can I get connected to the Worship Ministry? Schedule an appointment with the Worship Pastor, at which time you will have the opportunity to ask questions concerning the Worship Ministry. The Worship Pastor and/or the Music Assistant will listen to you play your instrument. This will allow us the opportunity to hear your playing capability and then place you in the proper area of ministry.
The primary rehearsal time for the orchestra and rhythm section is before the Worship Services. The orchestra plays for the Sunday morning worship services and the rhythm section plays for all Worship Services. There is also a rehearsal at 6:45 PM on Wednesday evenings.
Instrumentalists and singers are also used frequently in the Children's, Student, and College Ministries.
Are there other areas of ministry in which the Celebration Choir and Orchestra participate? The Celebration Choir and Orchestra are key to the South Florida Easter Pageant, Christmas Celebration, and Memorial Day Celebration, as well as recording projects and singing in the malls.
Are there other areas in the Worship Ministry where I may be involved? Yes. If you have an interest in the Preschool Choir, Children's Choir, or in the Student Choir you may be used.
Other areas of service are: · Pageant Assistant · Filing Music · Connection Leaders Greeters · Internet · Media
I am a soloist and would like to participate in ministry. Where can I get connected? Soloists have the opportunity to minister in all the Worship Services and Family Celebrations. There are opportunities for ensembles as well. To lead in worship through solos or ensembles, you must be a part of the Celebration Choir. Exceptions to this would be a guest artist or thematic series where needed.
Why should I participate in the Worship Ministry? If you love to be with other people of like-mindedness, if you love to sing or play an instrument, if you strive for excellence, if you want to encourage others, if you have a passion for worship, if you want to practice now what we will do in heaven, then the Worship Ministry is for you.
